VBS

So, I have been too busy to post lately, I have been up to my eyeballs in VBS prep. and the whole shmer. We had a great week, we made train frames, whirligigs, Aussie sheep, crocodile prayer reminders, and a boomerang bead necklace. I will try to put pictures on here tomorrow but I am so tired from being so busy everyday for 2 weeks now that I just want to veg. for a while but I have to take Jeana to a swim party tomorrow but that should be fun anyway. But I was so glad to have lots of time with my daughter Jana this was the first year she got to help in VBS instead of being a kid and going to vbs and was very proud of how hard she worked. We have some excellent awesome teens willing to give up a lot of their time to work for the Lord. It was exciting to see them grow in that way this week and exciting to see, all the kids learning more about their relationship with God.

Broken

Just a quick post, today - Some of you know that Jana's glasses broke while she was at camp. So we had ordered her a new pair they had insurance on them so thankfully it didn't cost as much as the first time. So we go to pick them up at Sears and my car starts acting wonky. About a block from the mall the check engine light comes on and then as I pull into the parking light the car dies. I get it to start but am unsure about driving it home, because I may not get home all the way and don't want to stand outside in 95 degree heat. So Brian goes out there and it won't start again... Yea, I get to drive Brian's car home. Did I ever tell you that Brian's car has no A/C. So as sweat drips in my eyes driving home, I'm thinking how many times I'm going to have to drive this car until, we can fix my car, if my car is fixable... Pray we can fix it fast, please! And that God will provide money to get the car fixed because if it is something big I'm not sure we can afford it.

What is it about our homes?

So while the girls were away at camp we had a visitor to our yard. I say to our yard because he did NOT come inside. One night late, Brian heard something on the back porch, he looks out the curtain of the french doors from the bed room and sees a MAN looking in the other set of french doors at me on the computer. I was facebooking or something, had the lights on and was not looking at the window, I never saw him. He comes rushing in and ran out to the garage gets the shot gun and loads it and hits the garage door button. He sees the man running across the yard and exiting from the back gate, that we have never even had open. So now we have to go talk to the little old lady who lives behind us and find out if she minds if we put a lock on that gate. So anyway it creeped me out. I am here lots of times on my own and I don't like the thought of someone just watching me, what if Brian wasn't here and he just walked on in, I might have had to HURT him. You know what I mean. Anyway this is not the first time someone has tried to break into one of our homes. Last year, someone came in the house and used our computer to look at porn websites. I found that lovely and Brian looked it up on the history and it happened while we were at church. So we put a password on the computer and looked for anything that was missing, nothing was, guess he was a perve not a theif. At the time we thought it was the neighbors kids or grandkids but now I'm not sure, maybe that was what the Man was doing looking for some internet. At the old house someone tried to break in while we were there (stupid kids) Brian scared the pee out of them with his shot gun that time. He heard them in the yard and went out the front door and snuck around the corner and they were attempting to climb in a high window and all he did was cock the shot gun and they yelled OH sh-- and took off. Brian very gleefully told me he thought he could smell urine over by that window! Then when we lived in Barnsdall, Brian's bike got stolen from the garage. And of course when we lived in Tahlequah, We had the guy that kept comming and leaving his girly magazines hidden in his back room. I know what your thinking, some of you who don't know my husband may think, those might have been his. But he is the one who kept finding them and bringing them to me. I mean if they were his would he be that stupid? No, he would not. Any how we kept finding them and figured a kid was using the back room for privacy, and we forgot to lock the back door because the front one locks automatically. Anyhow, one day when I return from working at the Sirloin, I came home and was sitting on the couch, just resting and watching TV, the phone rang and as I answered it I saw a shadow pass under the door to the back room. On the phone was Brian and I told him I thought someone was back there, he said get out, so I grabbed the gun out of the hiding place and took off out the front door. Brian must have broke all kinds of speed records because he was there at our apartment like with in 7 minutes. He went up to the apartment and found a magazine open on the floor of the backroom and the back door wide open. Brian figures it scared the kid when he heard me answer the phone and he took off. Anyway it was the last time. So we are being very security conscience and checking doors and things and I am going to make some curtains for the second set of french doors. We have curtains on the bedroom ones but not the family room ones.

We forgot..

Well, since I last blogged, we have been busy with packing and getting Jana off to student life camp and Jeana packed off to be with Grammy for the week. With that said it was so busy getting laundry done, and everything they both needed put in a compact way, so at least Jana could carry her own stuff. Well Brian and I were very excited we had a whole 5 days with just us. So we had a date out, we had another couple over and just had some good time together. It was still a crazy week, with Jana texting us every night and hearing about what was happening with her. For instance, her nebulizer and medication for it was lost at camp (now found) and her glasses broke also. Then I had to meet Mom in Vinita to pick Jeana up, so Jeana and I could go to Silver Dollar City with her Brownie troop on Sat. I get to Vinita and the a/c is just barely blowing cool air, I think great this again.. it happened before but when you stop and get out for a hour or so it is usually fine. So we ate lunch and went out to the car to put Jeana's stuff in my car and I tried to start the car. Yep not starting, I knew Brian had said something about a loose wire around the starter so I called him and let him tell Dad where it was and Dad messed with it and got it to start. So we were on our way right? So 10 minutes into the trip home, it only takes a hour, we have no a/c. Not even blowing a little bit cool, so we roll the windows down and just bear it! Jeana was so good she only said I'm hot once. Well we get home I call Mom and tell her I'm home (I always do that), and then 25 minutes later Jana calls and her bus is home early, so we run and get her. So later that night I find out we missed being either being in a huge wreck or stuck for hours and I do mean HOURS on the highway with no A/C. Yes, that wreck that happened in OK that 10 people died in, I missed it by 5 to 10 minutes. If it had taken, Dad longer to get the car started, I would have been in that mess. I'm so glad God took care of that. We had only 1 cup of water in the car with us and some of those poor people were waiting for hours. Anyway, I have been thinking of that for days, along with spending time with Jeana and her Brownie troop at Silver Dollar city, we didn't get in until after 1opm on Saturday. Sunday we were wiped out. But we had a great time. I posted some pictures on FB. I realized after that I forgot to get someone to take a picture with me and Jeana together. I need to get better at that. Anyway to the whole point of this post. Brian and I have been so busy since the girls came home, having fun with them and spending time all together, that we forgot it was our ANNIVERSARY on the 29th! I'm totally laughing about it too. It's not that we didn't get to do stuff this whole week before it. Neither of us mentioned it at all on the day it was. I can't be mad he forgot (he has never forgotten any date before) I forgot too! So tonight we talked about it and laughed and said Happy Anniversary. So on to the next Holiday.. 4th of July we are going to go do our usual, Pizza in the park and watch the fireworks with the kids. So happy 4th and don't forget what we are celebrating.
